This project was a reforming of a good sized existing garden into a practical, yet stunning Driveway. The challenge here was to bring many differing levels of the land into one flowing area that made use of the space.
After reshaping and removing the excess soil, we installed a deep sub base with weed control. A new pathway was installed that span each side of the home, in Marshall’s Indian Sandstone, to compliment the existing stonework of the building, and give great access around the house. Two pillars and an adjoining wall were built out of Sandstone to create a new Driveway opening in the entrance of the location. The pillars had ducting and cables installed to accommodate a new electric gate system, and impressive looking Coping Tops to really finish the entrance off.
The driveway itself was finished in the striking Marshall’s Original Cobble in Iron Grey, and edged with a Basalt Colour decorative border to bring out the shape of the cobbles. This gave the Driveway a very rustic look, yet using one of the most modern systems on the market today. The contrast between the Grey of the Driveway and the Sandstone of the Pathway really define the property, and help to shape the overall look of the project.
Whilst the practical needs were met in terms of vehicular use, we were delighted with the aesthetics of this enterprise more than anything else.
